Sprinkler System Repair
Sprinkler systems can require repairs over time, including leaky pipes, damaged pop-up spray heads or nozzles, failed valves, and broken irrigation wiring. Outdoor Legacy’s turf-irrigation work uses pop-up spray heads.

Signs that a sprinkler isn’t working
A sprinkler could include:
- Unusual noises from the pop-up spray body or nozzle.
- Wetter or drier area(s) in your yard.
- Uneven water coverage between zones.
- A broken valve could be to blame, or more complex solutions might include installing new zone valve(s) or controller.
Sprinkler valves
Sprinkler valves are generally plastic parts used to direct water to individual sprinklers. They may be installed above or underground and grouped into a central valve assembly or manifold for easy maintenance and servicing. When one of these valves fails, an unequal water distribution could result in drought-like conditions in certain places while it causes flooding elsewhere; most common signs include leaks, low-pressure levels, and discoloration or corrosion on its body.
Pop-up spray heads and nozzles
Pop-up spray bodies and nozzles can wear, clog, crack, settle, tilt, or be damaged by vehicles, mowers, and snow equipment. A leaking, tilted, or blocked spray head can create runoff, misting, wet spots, or dry gaps. Service should check the body, stem, filter, nozzle, alignment, operating pressure, and spray pattern before deciding whether cleaning, adjustment, raising, lowering, capping, or replacement is appropriate. Spray heads on the same zone should use compatible precipitation rates.
Broken irrigation lines and a trench dug out of the ground
Irrigation lines can become cracked or broken from wear-and-tear, root intrusion, or incorrect installation. A leak or broken line wastes water, allowing even small amounts to escape through the pipe into your yard. An Outdoor Legacy technician can locate damaged sections by shutting off your system and digging a trench around them; once found, they will cut away damaged pipe before inserting new couplings at both ends and tightening them to repair your sprinkler system.
Backflow Prevention
An approved backflow prevention assembly helps protect the potable water supply from backsiphonage and backpressure. Required assembly type, installation, testing, repair, and reporting vary by local water provider and site conditions. Outdoor Legacy can diagnose irrigation symptoms around the assembly; when assembly testing, repair, or replacement is indicated, the work must follow the applicable provider’s requirements and be performed by personnel the provider accepts.

Questions we hear about sprinkler repair
Why would one sprinkler zone stop working?
A dead zone can involve a valve or solenoid, irrigation wiring, a controller setting, pressure, or a damaged line. Testing is needed to identify the cause before pricing the repair.
Do you repair systems you did not install?
Contact Outdoor Legacy with the system details. Existing systems can be evaluated even when another contractor performed the original installation.
My lawn has brown patches but the sprinklers run. Why?
Brown patches can point to uneven coverage, pressure problems, blocked or misaligned spray nozzles, tilted spray bodies, soil conditions, or other lawn-health issues. Running each zone shows where the water actually lands and helps narrow the cause.
