Outdoor Legacy performs double-pass core aeration—not a single pass—to increase coring density and reduce missed areas. Aeration can help relieve soil compaction and improve access to air and water; actual results vary with soil moisture, compaction, turf condition, and equipment setup.
Foot Traffic from pets, kids, mowing, etc. will compact soil and stress lawns. Rain fall and irrigation further compacts the soil, reducing large air spaces where roots readily grow. Compaction is greater on heavy clay soils than on sandy soils, and it is greatest in the upper 1 to 1 1/2 inches of soil.
Thatch Build up: Although a thin layer of thatch is beneficial, thatch accumulation should not exceed 1/2 inch. Excess thatch blocks out air, light and water from reaching root zones. Core aeration reduces thatch accumulation and minimizes its buildup.
How Often Do I Aerate: Spring and Fall is the best time to Aerate for your lawn allowing those compacted soils to be loosed up and more affective for fertilizers, water, and oxogen to get down to the root zone for a healthy beautiful lawn.
Benefits: Fertilizers and water is more effective with improved air exchange between the soil and Atmosphere. Enhanced drought and heat stress tolerance. Reduces thatch buildup and help against diseases.
After double-pass core aeration, the lawn will be dotted with small soil plugs. Leave the plugs in place so they can break down naturally and return soil and organic matter to the surface. Aeration can improve access to air and water, but it is not the only input that determines turf health.
The camshaft-driven vertical coring action is intended to pull cores while reducing lateral turf disturbance. Two passes increase coring density and reduce missed areas; actual core depth, spacing, and surface disturbance vary with soil moisture, compaction, turf condition, and equipment setup.
Aeration works alongside irrigation and nutrient management rather than replacing them. Soil testing can help identify nutrient needs, and watering should be adjusted to current turf demand and site conditions.
Outdoor Legacy performs two passes for one aeration service to increase coring density and reduce missed areas. The purpose is broader treatment than a single pass, without promising a fixed result for every lawn.
Service Areas
Outdoor Legacy serves homeowners in Centennial, Greenwood Village, Parker, Denver Tech Center, Cherry Hills, and Castle Pines, Colorado.
Frequency depends on soil type, compaction, thatch, traffic, turf condition, and the result of prior service. Heavy clay or heavily used lawns may need a different schedule than lightly used turf.
Two passes create more openings and more complete coverage than a single pass. It is the established Outdoor Legacy approach and the difference customers specifically mention in reviews.
Leave them in place. The plugs break down naturally and return soil and organic matter to the lawn.
From spring startup through fall blowout—and from double-pass aeration to residential landscaping—request the service your property needs.
